How to make Shawarma – Egyptian Recipes

Ingredients

  • One found of flank steak
    • Cut the steak into strips
  • 200 grams of yogurt
  • Two large red onions
    • Finely chop the onions
  • Four tablespoons of white vinegar
  • A half teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • A half teaspoon of salt
  • Two tablespoons of olive oil
  • One green bell pepper
  • Two diced tomatoes
  • A half cup of chopped parsley
  • Egyptian tahini sauce
  • Petit pan bread

Instructions

  1. Start the process by mixing the minced onion, yogurt, and vinegar
  2. Once mixed, apply the mixture to the steak
  3. Refrigerate the steak for 30 minutes
  4. Use a large skillet and heat oil over medium heat
  5. Add the mix and cook
  6. Stir the mixture for at least five minutes
  7. Add the sliced green pepper and stir again to combine
  8. Cover the skillet and cook for 15-20 minutes
  9. Remove the cover and add tomatoes to the skillet
  10. Cover and cook for another five minutes
  11. Stir in the parsley and the mixture to combine for 2-3 minutes
  12. Remove from heat and make the sandwiches
  13. Apply a layer of tahini sauce and add Shawarma to the sandwich
  14. Serve with Egyptian tahini sauce or tomato salad
